On February of 2012 Slavek Kwi published on Impulsive Habitat his work 'Compo sites' a release intended to be somehow appropriated by the listener as the artist suggested on the liner notes.
On February of 2012 David Velez gathered a series of artists to make their own appropriation of 'Compo sites' in a collective process where they will build one piece composed by each of their individual pieces. The invited artist are Juan José Calarco from Argentina, Ákos Garai from
Hungary, Hiroki Sasajima from Japan, Christopher McFall from Missouri, US and Simon Whetham from England. The result is a 34:46 piece with a steady structure and
yet a variety of sonorities and approaches where each artist managed to make their own
interpretation of the original Slavek Kwi material. |
